Product Sales Program

Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle’s product sales programs help girls develop life long skills that increase their self-confidence and add new dimensions to their lives. By participating in the product sales girls earn their own way and contribute to the troop/group and council support. The product sales programs present opportunities for girls to:

  • Learn the importance of goal-setting and develop plans to achieve a goal.
  • Understand how their efforts contribute to the overall good of their council and Girl Scouting.
  • Put the ethical standards of the Girl Scout Promise and Law into practice.
  • Learn about entrepreneurship and basic business and financial planning.
  • Develop high levels of self-esteem, self-reliance, and personal achievement.
  • Heighten their career awareness.
  • Develop interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Girl ScoutsAll registered girl members at the Girl Scout Daisy grade level or higher whose guardians have given their written permission are eligible to participate in the product sales programs.

Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle offers two product sale programs per year.

The annual Cookie Program is the nation’s premier business entrepreneurial program for girls. The program begins with pre-sales in January and the girls conduct direct sales in March. The bakery, Little Brownie Bakers, supplies each troop with program activities that prepare each girl and her troop with goal setting, marketing, entrepreneurship, and leadership ideas.

The Fall Product Sale Program takes place September through November. The girls participate in the Nut Sale with products from Trophy Nut. These vendors offer program activities for all age levels which the girls and their troops can use throughout the program year and earn patches.

Starting Today!

This year, Girl Scouts everywhere will discover what matters most to them, connect with people in their community, and use the power of Girl Scout Cookies to take action and make the world a better place. As an adult volunteer, here’s your chance to help girls change the world one cookie package at a time!

Watch for your Meeting Kit
As an adult volunteer, you likely have already received your age-appropriate Cookie Program Meeting Kit. This step-by-step guide is packed with fun ideas that make it easy for girls to fully benefit from the Cookie Program, with experiences just right for their age. You may wish to follow it exactly or modify it to fit your needs and the interests of your girls.

As you guide your girls into the Cookie Season, invite them to set two kinds of cookie goals:

  • What can we do for fun and learning with our cookie proceeds?
  • What can we do with our cookie proceeds to help others?

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is much more than a fundraiser. It’s a hands-on leadership and entrepreneurial program. And both begin with inspiration!

Cookies 2012

What Can A Cookie Do?This year’s cookie season is “What Can A Cookie Do?;” as Girl Scouts across the country will be continuing the Girl Scout tradition for the next 100 years. Your girls will be able to discover what matters most, connect with the people of your community, and use the power of Girl Scout Cookies to take action in the world around them.
Each year when girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie program, they are continuing and contributing to the ongoing work of Girl Scouting. The Cookie program supports ALL the girls in the council, and makes Girl Scouting available to any girl. It also provides fun and exciting programs for the girls, resources, camp, and support for adult learning. One hundred percent of Girl Scout Cookie proceeds support Girl Scouts in our local community, with girls at the forefront of how their troop profits are to be spent.
Many of today’s successful businesswomen made their first ever presentations by selling Girl Scout Cookies and attribute their business know– how and success to their participation in the Girl Scout Cookie Program.

Now that you’re inspired about the 2012 Cookie Season and all it has in store…here’s what to do to ensure you are ready to participate:

  • Ensure all girls are registered members
  • Recruit and/or volunteer someone to manage the cookie program at the troop level, and as a team review your Troop Cookie Manual [pdf]
  • Take the online VIP Training
  • Start planning your cookie activities with the girls using the Little Brownie Activity Books, or visit the Little Brownie website.
  • Ask the girls to set personal goals and brainstorm activity and service goals to be funded by the cookie proceeds
