Girl Scouting 101 is a 45-minute, self-paced online orientation to Girl Scouting.

Troop 101

Designed just for troop leaders, this course covers the structure of Girl Scouting and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.  You will find out where to get help, explore resources, and learn about policies and procedures of the organization.  During the second half, small groups will look at each level of Girl Scouting (Daisy, Brownie, Junior Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador) to learn how to work with that age level.  Small groups will explore the basics of the Girl Scout program, as well as the girl/adult partnership and developmental stages of that age level.

Who should complete this course?

Troop Leaders - Required materials:  Pen and note paper.

New Leader Training

This session combines the Leadership Essentials and Troop Pathway sessions. We will cover material/information for all adults working with girls in troop/group setting of all grade levels, including Series Pathways. Discover the concept of troop leadership teams, explore the basics necessary to run a troop, and explore GSUSA Safety Checkpoints for the personal safety and success of each troop or group.  The structure of Girl Scouting and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will be covered. You will find out where to get help, explore resources, and learn about policies and procedures of the organization.  During the second half, small groups will look at each age level of Girl Scouting (Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador) to learn how to work with that age level.  Small groups will explore the basics of the Girl Scout program, as well as the girl/adult partnership and developmental stages of that age level.
